LA Knight 2025: Biography, Net Worth, Family, Income

Shaun Ricker better known as LA Knight was born on November 1, 1982, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE.

Knight began his wrestling career in 2003 at Heartland Wrestling Association and other promotions. In 2006, Knight, as Dick Rick teamed with Jon Moxley against the Big Show on an episode of WWE Heat.

In 2010, Knight began performing for NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood under his real name. During his time there he won the NWA Heritage Tag Team Championship with Brian Cage as the Natural Selection.

In 2013, he signed a developmental contract with WWE. He reported to NXT and was given the name Slate Randall. However, he was only used as an enhancement talent and his time in the company was short-lived before he was released a year later.

Following his release, he signed with TNA in 2015 and became known as Eli Drake. He entered the promotion first partnering with and then feuding with Drew McIntyre. Upon his turning heel he quickly established himself as one of the best talkers and acts in TNA.

He went on to win the Feast or Fired match for a future title shot at the TNA King Of The Mountain Championship. In 2016, Drake used his opportunity well and won his first title in the promotion.

During his reign, he continued to rise up the ranks. He introduced his talking segment, Fact of Life in which he would insult his guests and the fans with his increasingly popular catchphrase “Dummie. YEAH!”

At Bound For Glory, Drake won the Bound for Gold match giving him a future shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He was unsuccessful in that quest after champion Eddie Edwards retained his title.

However, his world title aspirations were met the following year. Drake won a 20-Man Gauntlet Match to capture the vacant IMPACT World Championship. He would successfully defend the title against Matt Sydal, Johnny Impact, and Alberto El Patron during his reign.

More championships followed as he and Scott Steiner defeated LAX to become the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions. The partnership didn’t last and the duo fought each other at the Under Pressure PPV in 2018.

A feud with Moose over the right to fight for the IMPACT! World Championship followed before he mixed it up with Abyss, Tommy Dreamer, and the Lucha Brothers. Drake left IMPACT! in 2019 following a dispute with management over a scheduled intergender match with Tessa Blanchard.

Drake then signed with Billy Corgan’s re-booted NWA. At the Hard Times, he teamed with James Storm to defeat The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, and The Wild Cards for the NWA World Tag Team Championships. A brief feud with Mr/Ken Anderson followed but the pandemic halted the promotion’s plans.

Drake left the NWA in 2021 and signed for WWE. He made his debut appearance at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day now known as LA Knight. He defeated Austin Grey in his first match before getting a shot at the North American Championship.

He then aligned himself with the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and entered a feud with Cameron Grimes over the Million Dollar Championship. Knight won the re-introduced title, turned on DiBiase, and made Grimes his personal butler.

Knight then joined Team Black & Gold with Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano, and Tommaso Ciampa to face Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, and Tony D’Angelo of Team 2.0 at WarGames.

Going by Max Dupri, he made his main roster debut as the leader of ma.çé and “mån.sôör – the Maximum Male Models. He then re-introduced his LA Knight persona and severed ties with the group before going on to feud with Bray Wyatt.

Knight’s popularity soared and he challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel 2023. Despite the loss he remained a top star and captured his first singles championship when he defeated Logan Paul for the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2024.
